Robert Stadd

Writer/Director/Producer, "The Ballad of Mary and Ernie."

Has had a successful career as a visual effects supervisor and producer, having worked with Michael Mann on his past four films, creating the visual effects for "Public Enemies," "Miami Vice," "Collateral," and "Ali." In addition, Robert Stadd has been the visual effects supervisor or producer on "Galaxy Quest," "Mighty Joe Young," "Nutty Professor" (I & II), "The Mask," "The Crow," "Crimson Tide," "My Fellow Americans," "Liar Liar," "Defending Your Life," "Hot Shots!" "Little Big League," etc.

His feature film for the Sci-Fi Channel (which he directed and co-wrote), "Alien Siege," starring Brad Johnson and Carl Weathers, gave the Channel their highest February ratings in five years.

He received his degree in film from California Institute of the Arts, where he studied with renowned British film director Alexander Mackendrick ("Man in the White Suit," "Sweet Smell of Success," etc.). He has directed theater, including "The Tangled Snarl," "An Evening of Yuppie Drama," "The Girl Who Cried Wolf," "Changing Partners," etc., at the Off Main Street Theater, Santa Monica Playhouse, Globe Playhouse, etc., as well as directing numerous productions at Theater East.

He lives in West Hollywood with his wife, artist Rachel X Hobreigh, and their standard poodle, Natasha Bella, who runs their lives with an iron paw.
